Make Up Anyone?

Sometime ago I went to shoot the exec members of Swallowfield Chapel for their website. Eddie was my PA and Monique and Dana were make up artists. Dana also organized the charade. Eddie wanted his photo taken afterward but the ladies just would not leave him alone! I just kept snapping...!

Mushroom Anonymous

Someone said to me they notice I have an affinity to mushrooms and they were wondering why. My immediate response was that they come in different shapes and size and you have to get really low and dirty to get them most times, and its intriguing... Now I'm thinking what the hell is so intriguing about that? hmm.

This shot was done at a photo workshop I had for some young people, primarily teenagers. Nikon D300, 80 - 200 mm lens, aperture f/4, shutter 1/60sec at ISO200. Contrast adjusted and image sharpened in Aperture 2.1

"Model"... Anyone?

Transcending, Part II

Vanessa was 9 months pregnant with her first baby. I visited her at home in Florida today and we chatted for a bit. That's when you realize that time goes by real quickly. It seemed like just yesterday she was this child that was so upset with me for letting some unscrupulous individual steal a lovely piece of artwork she had spent 2 weeks on, under my supervision. This was actually some 12 (or more) years ago at VBS. Now she is transcending...

The orange light from the evening sun streamed through the windows creating a lovely ambiance in the living room. I shot a few of Vanessa, then Romie joined after.

MacroMania!

"I have begun to truly appreciate the beauty in the smaller things, the most inconspicuous, that which often we take for granted. They too have their purpose. I hope that others can see the beauty in them through me, and in turn continue to be inspired... and blessed". That is an exerpt from my site that I wrote 2 years ago, but have only now decided to really take it literally and embark on a macro journey in photography. The macro images below were taken just about a year ago with my Nikon D200 and Nikon 18 - 55mm lens with +1, +2 and +4 close-up filters attached.

I will be putting my Nikon 24 - 85mm macro lens to much more use for this new macro journey, working on composition and sharpness. I think I am better equipped today than I was a year ago: A Nikon D300, a camera remote, a proper macro lens, couple remote triggers for flashes, and tripod, so I have no excuses! :D

I used the pen in this photo as a size reference. I found these mushrooms growing by the front wall of my yard.
