Monique & Jerry

We spent the afternoon lounging really. Monique and Jerry basically enjoyed each others company, while I had the pleasure of sharing their joy, immortalizing their love. Wedding bells toll rather loudly, and my blessings and prayers are with you guys. Toni was with me, assisting with the lighting.

Babies Are A Blessing...

All my friends having babies, and they make me feel am getting over the hill. I was in Philadelphia this past weekend and met 2 new bundles of joy, or sometimes pain in the butt when they cry cry cry and you just dont know why... exasperating! LOLOL. Ok they are beautiful tho. I love 'em!! They are off-springs of Nicole, and Jerry & Suzanne

Ellisa Nicole Viola Sadler, at 5 mths, taken by me

Juliana Rose Clayton, at 7 wks, taken by her big sister, Jo-Anna, who I must say is a natural! At 9 1/2 yo, she handled my Nikon D200 like a pro, even tho it was way big & heavy for her, with the battery pack and SB800 Flash! I surprised myself to let her even touch it, but I had a good feeling. And she did well. You go, Jo-jo!!

Gone to the Dogs!

Meet Toby and Belle. They are the heartbeat of a friend of mine, Ayesha. This weekend we decided to play around and shoot these critters. Toby was really passive and we didn't have much trouble with his photos. Belle however seemed almost on speed or a drug of some sort! She just would not keep still!! After an hour I was exhausted. All in all I enjoyed it. Now a few more friends of mine need their dogs photographed. We'll see. You can see more of these cuties here: 'Toby & Belle'

Tech Info for both Toby & Belle: Nikon D200, Nikon 24 - 85mm Lens, Aperture f/13, Shutter 1/250, Exposure Bias +1.7, ISO125

Published, At Last.

The Observer, Monday October 8, 2007. A spread called 'Vows - Your Observer Wedding Magazine'. As I mentioned in a previous blog, Denise & Harold's wedding was one of my favorites to date. So I am delighted that it was featured in the Observer newspaper, and all the photos shown were my handy work. I have posted the jpeg scans I did below in this order - front, center-spread, back. They even gave me full credits, you will find it on the right side of the enlarged center spread. Yes am feeling good! Ok thats one more step... Still got a looong way to go!

Simply Beautiful.

I first saw her at a wedding rehearsal where she was a bridesmaid. It was difficult to ignore her. Her aura was compelling, her gait was graceful. She is one such person you notice when she steps into a room. And today I had the pleasure of immortalizing her with my camera. Am sure you will agree that Stacey is ... simply beautiful. I was assisted by Naphtale who was responsible for lighting and Charlene with make-up. They did a great job and we all had a really good time. All images were shot RAW with my Nikon D200, using the Nikon 24 - 85mm f/2.8 lens. The contrast & saturation were edited with Aperture.

Gillian & Brian's Wedding...

Wedding photography does call for quick thinking and a lot of creativity, along with nerves of steel. Can't say I have them all together yet, but will get there. Deploying them under extenuating circumstances is another trick. This wedding could have proved embarrassing, as the crotch of my pants tore all the way around when I attempted to kneel for a shot. This happened at the hotel where the bride was dressing. Luckily I knew one of the bridesmaid, Natoya, and she was quick to assist. For the duration of the ceremony, I had safety pins from the bottom of my zipper all the way around my crotch, and down one leg. Now how safe was that!!

I shot the close up of Gillian and Brian's rings on her bouquet made of Calla Lillies, in the natural light streaming thru the huge glass doors. I stood on the bed and shot her from above in the second image. Toni was my second gun at this wedding and she captured me working Gillian.

Tech info: With My Nikon D200 I shot the Ring - Aperture f/5.6, Shutter 1/125, ISO400, Focal length 84mm in Macro Mode; Bride - Aperture f/5, Shutter 1/60, ISO500, Focal length 32mm; Toni shot the last image with her Canon EOS Rebel XT, Canon 28 - 80mm lens, Aperture f/5, Shutter 1/125, ISO400, Focal length 28mm
